Aroma Room, aromatherapy and massage
Colette Mooney
Clinical Aromatherapist and Massage Therapist
Colette uses essential oils to harness the healing power that the natural world has been offering us for many centuries. Extracted from the seeds, flowers, bark, leaves and roots of plants, essential oils are what give a lemon its fresh citrus scent or a rose its delicate floral aroma.
Many people connect the aroma of essential oils with the creation of a luxurious and relaxing environment but they may not be aware of the multitude of health conditions which essential oils can help to alleviate. On both a physical and emotional level aromatherapy can help:
-
Muscular aches and pain
-
Indigestion, constipation and Irritable Bowel Syndrome
-
PMS, menstrual cramp & symptoms of menopause
-
Respiratory problems, coughs, hay fever and sinusitis
-
Poor circulation or detoxification resulting in symptoms such as cellulite, oedema & varicose veins
-
A poor immune system which has left you prone to infection
-
High blood pressure and elevated stress levels
-
Headaches, migraine and insomnia
-
Anxiety, depression and grief
The Treatment.
When you come for aromatherapy a brief consultation will ascertain your needs and a specific blend will be made tailored to those needs. You will be made to feel warm, comfortable and cosy covered on the massage table and your blend has been put together, your massage will begin. The towels will be discretely placed so that only the area being worked on is exposed and you can melt away into the atmosphere and surroundings. My aim is that you leave feeling refreshed and relaxed and with your body in a better state of balance than when you arrived. The massage will help to improve your circulation and lymph drainage, oxygenating and detoxifying your body tissues, easing your mind and soothing aches and pains in your body.
Massage is about bringing your body back to a state of balance on a regular basis and making it more efficient at what it does best, ideally you should try to have one on a regular basis to receive the full benefit!
Prices are as follows:
£20 for 30 minute treatment
£37 for 60 minute full body treatment
£52 for 90 minute full body including luxury facial and head massage

I love aromatherapy! I believe that you can only really promote something if you yourself have a true belief in the benefits it offers. I am passionate about aromatherapy because I have found it to help me throughout my own life through times of stress and anxiety, times of worry and change and times where I have came to the realisation that by really looking after myself all the other areas of my life have improved.
From the beginning…
My keen interest in complementary therapies began while working for over two years within Napiers Herbal Clinic. Following this I was fortunate enough to travel for one year taking in the wonders of Thailand, Cambodia, China and India. Throughout my travels I was intrigued by the eastern attitude towards health and the way in which massage is seen, not as a luxury treatment, but as a routine occurrence undergone on a regular basis to promote mobility. I gained an understanding by speaking to people of how they viewed massage as vital to achieving efficiency and balance within the body, as well as helping to achieve stillness and a sense of calm within the mind, when all around is hectic.
After completing my Thai massage qualification at the world renowned Wat Po shool in Bangkok I returned to Glasgow with the long term aim of changing my direction in life. I decided not to pursue a career in the area of marketing where I had completed my degree but instead to begin a qualification in what I was more passionate about, Aromatherapy.
Having now qualified as a Clinical Aromatherapist I have never looked back. My role as an aromatherapist brings together all of the things which I enjoy; meeting people, helping people and offering people the opportunity to feel good.
I am a full accredited member of the Complementary Therapists Association (CthA). Feel free to ask if you wish to view my qualification or certification documents.
